Pascale Fitts

On behalf of the Fitts family, I wish to express not only our support to our wonderful Niner Nation family, but also to articulate our appreciation for the manner in which this event was handled by University officials. We are so proud that our son Jeremie has chosen UNC Charlotte as his current home. The event that occurred on April 30th does not affect our decision to send him right back in the Fall. We continue to feel as though our son and his friends are safe; we believe UNC Charlotte will be the safest public university in America. As an educator who suffered the loss of students, I understand what goes on behind the scenes. First, we wish to recognize members of law enforcement who made sure no stone was left unturned to return the campus to complete safety. Secondly, we applaud Chancellor Dubois and his incredible staff for being gracious, loving, and supportive. Our hearts and daily prayers remain constant with those who are suffering greatly at this time. As a mom, my heart hurts for Reed’s and Riley’s loved ones. They will never be forgotten. Lastly, we want to send love Drew’s way as he’s our son’s friend and brother. We look forward to meeting him someday very soon! Psalm 71:5
